The ears get your attention. The boy steals your heart. Enter, Jeter!

This sweet brindle puppy has an estimated birthday of March 2026 and currently weighs approximately 30 pounds.

Jeter came to foster care from Oklahoma City Animal Welfare’s euth list and is discovering how good life can be. He loves being close to his person and will thrive with a patient family who helps him build confidence through encouragement and positive experiences.

He is dog friendly and cat friendly and has done wonderfully with his foster’s dogs of all sizes. He loves playing with a canine friend and enjoys roughhousing! His play can get a little rough at times, so a compatible playmate and supervision will help keep things enjoyable for everyone.

Jeter rides beautifully in the car and sleeps comfortably in his crate in a separate room, currently with one overnight potty break. He is potty trained, but still needs breaks before eight hours. Like many puppies, he can be mouthy and will benefit from gentle, consistent training and appropriate chew toys.

Jeter needs a family committed to his long-term orthopedic care. His vet identified flat feet and structural differences in both back legs that may lead to orthopedic problems as he gets older. His care includes maintaining a lean, healthy weight, regular walking as advised by his vet, and ongoing joint supplementation—he currently takes Cosequin. His vet specifically recommended digging to help his flat feet, so a designated sandbox (and training) could give him an appropriate place to dig!

Keeping his nails consistently trimmed is especially important for his comfort. He’s doing well with nail care at home as his foster helps him get comfortable with the process using patience and plenty of treats. His adopter should be comfortable continuing veterinary follow-up and financially prepared for potential orthopedic care in the future.

Jeter has so much affection to give. He’s looking for someone who will enjoy the puppy he is today and stay committed to the dog he grows into.
