Meet Max! Max is a big, sweet Boxer mix weighing around 60 pounds, and he's one awesome dog! Max is still a young adolescent, so he's got plenty of growing and learning left to do. He's smart, picks things up quickly, and, like most young dogs, may test boundaries as he figures out what's expected of him. Max can be nervous and slow to warm up, especially when he's faced with something new. He isn't a dog who will necessarily walk into a new situation and immediately feel comfortable. Changes in routine or unfamiliar environments can be a little overwhelming for him, and he does best when he's given time to take things in at his own pace. A patient adopter who can give Max consistency, structure, and time to build confidence will be important for him. Once Max starts to feel comfortable, you get to see what a great dog he really is. He's very sweet, incredibly smart, and has a great time getting out for walks. For a 60-pound adolescent, he's really good on leash! He's also very observant and quick to notice anything unusual around him. If something catches his attention, Max will definitely let you know. Max may need a little extra time to adjust to his new life, but he is absolutely worth getting to know. He's a wonderful dog with so much potential, and watching him become more confident and comfortable with his people will be incredibly rewarding. If you're willing to let Max take things at his own pace and give him the patience and consistency he needs, he could be an amazing companion.
