Meet boone
Boone is a 2.5-year-old, 65 lb Lab adopted at 10 weeks old. He is loving, playful, intelligent, & historically very friendly with people & dogs. He loves walks, play, training, & being with his people.
We are re-homing due to developed behavioral challenges that aren't compatible with our plans for children. He has had 2 human bite incidents, both following identifiable stressors: one during a painful ear infection after indicating he did not want to be touched, & one when startled awake after a stressful food-training session. He can also become defensive around food/valued items & may sleep-startle.
Boone is now on anxiety medication & working with a behavior professional. He needs an experienced, patient owner who understands canine body language & can provide structure, positive training, exercise, enrichment, and careful management. He can make progress in the right environment and we want to find him a safe, appropriate home where his boundaries are respected & he will thrive.
