Meet moose
Moose is a sweet, goofy, 5 year old fellow who I adopted from a rescue around 3 months ago. Moose likes to cuddle and appears to think he is a lap dog. Moose struggles with reactivity. I was not aware of Moose’s behavioral needs when I adopted him, and it appears the rescue I got him from was not either.
At first Moose was only mildly reactive to men on walks, but his reactivity has intensified and expanded since then. Moose is currently reactive to men, some strangers, dogs, and bikes. He does well with men if he knows them, for example, he met my dad and after receiving some treats was requesting scratches and climbing on his lap. The trainer we have worked with said he has a good temperament, and rated his level of reactivity as a 6-7 out of 10.
I feel he would do best in a rural environment, or a quieter area where he has room to run free. I think that Moose would do best in a home without dogs, and ideally men, though I suspect he would warm up to anyone fairly quickly.
