Meet nova
Nova is a sweet young female dog who can be very shy and fearful, especially around unfamiliar people or busy environments. She enjoys being outside, especially when it is dark and quiet, and she loves playing with my other dog when she feels comfortable. When there are not many people around, she is much more relaxed, playful, and able to be herself.
Nova can become scared when people walk by or approach her, and her first instinct is usually to run away. When she becomes extremely frightened and goes into fight-or-flight mode, she may run around and occasionally have an accident. I have tried calming medication prescribed by her veterinarian, but it did not seem to help her anxiety.
I am looking for a patient, calm, and understanding home for Nova preferably with someone who has experience with fearful or anxious dogs and can give her the time she needs to build trust. A quieter home with a secure yard and possibly another friendly dog may help her feel more comfortable.
