Roczy

Roczy is the kind of dog who makes you want to slow down, sit beside her, and remind her that she’s safe. At 8 years old, this sweet Staffie mix found herself surrendered to the shelter as a euthanasia request, and after spending most of her life in a home, the shelter environment has understandably been overwhelming for her.

Roczy is quiet, timid, and cautious—but underneath that reserved exterior is a truly gentle girl who is craving comfort and connection. She walks calmly on leash and feels safest curled up in her kennel with her blanket. And while she may be a little shy at first, she has a sweet playful side too—Roczy loves stuffies!

Once she realizes you’re there to love her, you start to see her softer side. When it was time to put her back in her kennel, Roczy surprised us by staying up and asking for pets. She may take a little time to trust, but those small moments show just how much love she has to give.

At 78 pounds, Roczy is currently obese and will need to lose around 20 pounds to get to a healthier weight. Her new family will need to be committed to helping her reach that goal through appropriate nutrition, gentle exercise, and lots of patience. We’re excited to give her the support and fresh start she deserves.

Roczy is coming to LOLAs Rescue on October 7th, and for the first time in a long time, she gets the chance to simply be a dog—not a number on a list.

She doesn’t need a perfect home. She needs a safe one. A patient person willing to let her decompress, a soft place to land, some cozy blankets and stuffies, and someone who will show her that she is finally home.

Roczy is ready for her second chance.
