Hi I'm Parsnip! I arrived here in Minnesota just a little before my first birthday (October 29) with my brother, Hardy, from Alabama, where we grew up outside at a nice family's house where our mom decided to give birth. It's been quite an adjustment - living inside, without my brother, with two teenagers, and a cat!My foster mom says I’ve handled all the transitions with a stoicism that is beyond my years. I don’t know about all that. I’m just taking things slow and going at my own pace. Living inside has been pretty great so far: couches, people to snuggle with, and I’m even discovering which toys I love the best!A few things to know about me:Home alone: Being left alone when everyone is at work and school makes me a little nervous - I might even bark, even though I never bark otherwise. I’m still learning that it's only for a little while before my people come back, and that a kennel isn't scary.Other pets: Having another dog to comfort me would help a lot - at just about 50 pounds, I'm the perfect size companion. I also live with a cat right now and give her a wide berth. House rules: I am very polite, and if I don’t know something yet just give me a gentle reminder. I am still learning after all!The Leash: I get a little confused when it's time to gear up, but once we're outside I'm a very calm walker. Sure, I crisscross a little to make sure to sniff everything - but I never pull.If you’re willing to go at my pace and teach me more about how great it is to live inside, I’d love to meet you!
