Meet cassie
Cassie lives in a foster home in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
Meet Cassie! đź’• This sweet 6-month-old girl is proof that a rough beginning doesn't have to define your future.
Cassie came into rescue in Texas as a young puppy already carrying scars on her side, and while we can only imagine what she may have experienced before rescue, she hasn't let her past steal her sweetness. She is a gentle, happy girl who is learning that life can be pretty wonderful when you're surrounded by people who love her.
Cassie is playful and enjoys running and wrestling with her dog friends, although she's also a pretty laid-back girl. She's the kind of pup who is happy to be her people's little sidekick, whether they're out for a walk, playing in the yard, or settling in for a movie.
She's wonderful with other dogs. She can be a little intimidated by larger dogs when she first meets them and may need a few minutes to feel comfortable, but once she settles in, she loves having canine friends around. A confident, friendly dog may even help Cassie come out of her shell when meeting new people. She's initially a little reserved with strangers, but she warms up quickly once she realizes she's safe.
Cassie is doing great with her leash and harness and enjoys going for walks. She's also becoming a little car-ride pro and sits beautifully in her elevated basket. She's a smart girl who figures things out quickly, so continuing her training will be a fun way to keep her busy and help her become the best girl she can be. She's currently working on her sit and recall and is eager to learn.
She's also doing well with potty training in her foster home. At bedtime, Cassie sleeps quietly in her kennel all night without a peep. She is kenneled when her foster family needs to be away to keep her safe while she continues to mature. It's not her favorite thing yet, but she's still a puppy and is learning that sometimes we have to be patient and practice being alone.
Cassie would love a family who will give her the patience, consistency, and encouragement every young dog deserves. A fenced yard would be wonderful, but she also enjoys walks and spending time with her people. Most of all, she needs someone who will let her continue discovering how good life can be.
Cassie has already shown us just how resilient she is. Now she's ready for the next chapter of her story—a forever family, a soft place to land, and all the love she should have had from the very beginning.

Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care.
Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once
approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250.
