Meet Senna — a beautiful Portuguese Water Dog who is still learning that the world can be a safe and gentle place. ❤️
Senna came from a breeding background, and unfortunately, she didn’t get the opportunity to experience all the things that help a dog learn to trust people. Because of her past, she is very scared and unsure, especially when faced with new people or unfamiliar situations. She may not run up to greet you or immediately show you her sweet personality—and that’s okay.
Senna needs someone who understands that trust isn’t built in a day. She needs patience, consistency, a quiet environment, and most importantly, someone who will let her set the pace. Every small step forward—a curious glance, a brave step closer, accepting a treat—will be a victory. 🥹
There is no doubt that Senna has a lot to learn about being a dog who is loved simply because she is her. She deserves a soft bed, a peaceful home, gentle hands, and a person who will celebrate her progress rather than expect perfection.
