Meet Neptune!
Neptune is a 3.5-year-old, 50 lb Australian Shepherd mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. He is a handsome, incredibly smart, active boy with all the intelligence, enthusiasm, and personality that working-breed lovers appreciate!

Neptune loves having a routine and a job to do. He is house trained, eager to please his people, and can become very bonded to his person or people. He thrives when he has structure, clear expectations, and opportunities to use both his mind and his energy. While he can take a moment to warm up to new dogs, he’s a social guy who loves playing with his canine friends in our play yard at the rescue everyday!

Because Neptune is such a smart, instinct-driven working dog, he needs a confident handler who understands working and herding breeds and can provide consistent boundaries and leadership as he can also become protective of his people. We are looking for a home with working-breed experience that will continue to give him structure, training, enrichment, and an active lifestyle.

Neptune would do best in an adult-only home without cats and without the hustle and bustle of an apartment or condo. A home with a full yard and a more predictable environment would be ideal for him. His perfect family will appreciate his working-dog brain and give him the outlets and guidance he needs to thrive.

Neptune is an incredibly intelligent, fun, affectionate dog who has so much to offer the right person or family. If you’re looking for an adventure buddy and have the experience to help a working dog be his best, Neptune may be your guy!

Neptune is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.
