My name is Winnie and I am an 8-to-10-year young female, purebred, Dachshund who is looking for her forever home and hooman. I am red/golden/orange/chestnut in color and weigh about 25lbs . And let’s get one thing straight, right from the get-go. I’m not looking for someone to help me into any final chapter. I’m looking for someone to be there with me while I begin again. The white on my muzzle in no way means I’m ready to cash in my chips. Not at all!

I came here some time back with my friend, Mary. She is also a purebred dachshund and has her own biography on this site. Check her out too if you would. She and I came here together some time ago and have been best buddies ever since. We are two happy little girls, and, if possible, we would like to be adopted together. Twice the fun, twice the snuggles and twice the love.

Of the two of us, I think I’m more of the snuggler type. I’m the one who likes to make eye contact with you and have you talk to them. I will love being in the same area as you (you can tell that when my tail starts going 90 to nothing). The folks here at Golden Paws Rescue say I’m really sweet. Who am I to argue with them? It seems like they’re always carrying me around and loving me up, so I must have something going for me, right?

Mary and I have both been passed over many times by folks who came here to adopt. We’ve come to the conclusion that it’s because we have a little age on us. But maybe they’re missing something. We’re not puppies anymore, so we don’t do some of those more annoying puppy things, like chewing up the furniture or relieving ourselves in one of your shoes. We have a little gray around the snout, but we still have a lot of love in our hearts. That grey is experience and discernment, earned through the years and a thousand adventures. It really shouldn’t be wasted. Maybe there are some hoomans out there who have a little gray, just like us. Maybe we can help each other. Maybe we’re old enough to appreciate you and to appreciate sitting or lying by your side or on your lap. The only argument that Mary and I will ever have with each other is which one of us gets to sit closest to you. However, if you’re the more active type, we can still run and play with the best of them.

So come on and fill out an application Then head on down for a visit. We’ve been spayed, our shots are up to date and we’re ready to go. If you want, we will give you energy. If you want to sit, relax and just think about things, we’re up for that too. Let’s start our lives together as soon as possible, okay? We look forward to seeing you soon.
