hector

Hector is a Great Dane with a big personality to match his extra-large size. He is a social guy who enjoys being around people and loves attention. Give him some pets and he is happy to lean right into you for more. He also knows some basic commands, including “sit” and “come,” especially when treats are involved. Hector is a strong boy who likes to explore and can pull on leash, so he needs someone who is comfortable handling a dog his size. A home with Great Dane or other large-breed experience would be a great fit. A fenced yard would also give Hector a safe place to stretch those very long legs. The busy shelter environment seems to be stressful for Hector, and he has a hard time fully settling here. We think a quieter home with a predictable routine may help him feel more comfortable. Despite his stress, Hector continues to seek out people and enjoys affection. Hector needs to be the only pet in his new home. He becomes very excited when he sees other dogs, and because of his size and strength, a home without other animals is the safest choice. He is also looking for an adult home without children. If you know and love Great Danes, Hector may be the big guy you’ve been waiting for. He needs an experienced person who understands that life with a giant dog sometimes requires a little extra muscle, patience, and room on the couch. In return, Hector has plenty of attention and Great Dane-sized companionship to offer. To complete an online adoption questionnaire, visit our website: www.HamiltonNJ.com/AdoptTo see other available animals: https://www.hamiltonnj.com/173/Pets-Available-for-AdoptionHamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot offer any guarantees on the age, health, temperament, personality or mental disposition of any pet.
