Meet apollo
Meet Apollo, our 4-year-old pup! We adopted him from a Phoenix shelter in January 2023 at 11 months old. He loves hiking, running, and playing with other dogs, but he's just as happy sleeping all day.
He's smart and knows sit, lay down, come, stay, paw, stop, and no. He's also an escape artist: he opens pocket doors, can shove 75 lb barrels off a door, and clears anything under 30 inches.
He's gentle with kids, but when they get excited he does too and may knock over little ones. He's good with calm cats, but a cat that swats can rile him up.
He's very protective of women and always aware of his surroundings. He's wary of some men, especially heavier-set men with beards, and will bark, growl, or try to bite if he feels threatened. He has never bitten anyone.
He's crate and house trained but may have accidents while adjusting, so please be patient. He'd do best in an active home with a secure, tall fence. He'll see the vet before going to his new family.
