Hello! My name is Winky. I’m a 2-year-old Yorkie gal who weighs 8 lbs. of pure love . . . in fact, my foster mommy and daddy call me a “love bucket”.  You may wonder why my name is Winky? Well, when I came into PPR’s care, I had a very bad eye that had to be removed.  Now, I just look like I’m winking all the time!  I’m a flirty gal who loves to get your attention and I will put on quite the show to get it. 

Favorite Things: Winky loves to play and be around people.  In fact, the more people, the better she thinks.  She also loves to squeeze herself right up against you (especially during those scary times when there is thunder).  She will literally become one with you.  This social butterfly also enjoys other dogs and plays well with them.  Winky also loves adventure and going on a car ride.

Training & Manners:  Winky walks well on a leash, and this enthusiastic “wiggle-butt” would be happy to show off her skills.  She is vocal at times (primarily when she is hungry or wants your attention).  She is a clever/smart gal who would do well with someone willing to work with her on basic manners and additional training.  We think training  (more attention time) with her would be right up her alley. Winky is housetrained in her foster home. 

Health and Care: Winky is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. As mentioned, she does only have one eye, but you would never know it, and it doesn’t affect her at all.  She is otherwise healthy and just takes monthly heartworm/flea prevention like any other dog.  She will require occasional professional grooming to look and feel her best. She was recently groomed (she did great) and got a “summer shave” due to some matting.  She will be one gorgeous lady once her hair has fully grown back.

Other Animals: Winky has experience with dogs of all sizes in her foster home.  She enjoys playing with them and would do well in a home with a canine friend.  She has not been around cats, and we are not sure if she would appreciate a feline friend, so it is best to stick to dogs.

Children: Winky should do well with children of all ages, as long as they are respectful, appreciate her small size and her lack of vision on one side.   

Ideal Home: Winky can be vocal at times, so shared walls in an apartment or condo might not make the neighbors happy.  For this reason, a single-family home would be best for Winky.  Because she loves people SO much, her dream home would be one where her humans are home more often than not.  She does have free rein of her foster home when her fosters aren’t home, and she just hangs out with her three foster siblings.  At night, she is happy to curl up and snuggle next to you in the “people bed”.
