Sweet little Auggie is an adorable Shih Tzu who is about 7 years old and suddenly found himself needing a new home after his owner sadly passed away. Thankfully, a family friend stepped in to care for him and reached out to our rescue to help Auggie find the loving forever home he deserves.

Auggie is house trained, in good health, and ready to settle into his next chapter. He enjoys being with his people and would make a wonderful little companion for the right family.

When it comes to other dogs, Auggie can be a little selective. In his foster home, he gets along well with the female dog, but he isn’t a fan of the male dog. Because of this, he may do best as the only dog or with a compatible female dog after a proper introduction.

Auggie also prefers older children who will respect his space and understand that sometimes a little guy just wants to relax!

After losing the only home he knew, Auggie deserves a family who will give him the security, patience, and love he needs to feel at home again. If you’re looking for a sweet, mature little companion to share your life with, Auggie may be your guy!

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts local and in the New England area. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, up to date shots, Microchip, Alabama Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you.

Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have.

NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes.

If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement.
