When Huckleberry first came into rescue, he wanted nothing to do with the world around him. He was scared, shut down, and unsure if people could be trusted. Watching him slowly come out of his shell has been one of the most rewarding journeys.
Today, Huck is a sweet, gentle boy who has discovered just how much fun life can be. His favorite thing in the world? Other dogs. They give him confidence, help him feel safe, and bring out his playful, goofy side. He loves having a canine friend to wrestle with in the yard, chase around, or simply curl up next to for a nap.
Huck is still a little shy when meeting new people, but don't let that fool you. Give him a little patience, a few treats, and a calm environment, and he'll be asking for pets before you know it. Once he trusts you, you'll have a loyal companion who quietly adores his people.
Huck is about 11 months old, weighs around 50 pounds, and is ready to find a family that will continue showing him that the world isn't such a scary place after all.
