She's a young, social little girl who is ready to find a family to love for the rest of her life. One of the wonderful things about Gorda is that she gets along with both dogs and cats, making her a great candidate for a home that already has furry family members. As always, proper introductions and supervision are important when bringing any new pet into the household. At only 10 months old, Gorda is still young and will continue learning and developing as she moves into adulthood. She'll enjoy having people who include her in their daily lives and give her plenty of opportunities to play, explore, learn, and relax with the family. As a Miniature Schnauzer/Terrier mix, Gorda may share traits commonly associated with these breeds, including intelligence, curiosity, playfulness, alertness, and strong bonds with their people. Terrier mixes can be energetic and clever, so mental enrichment is just as important as physical exercise. Her future family should be ready to provide daily walks, playtime, interactive toys, continued training, socialization, and plenty of affection. Her Schnauzer-type coat may also require regular brushing and professional grooming to help prevent tangles and keep her coat comfortable and healthy. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect At 10 months old, Gorda is still a young dog. Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so her adopter should be prepared to continue working on house training, leash manners, basic commands, boundaries, and household routines as needed. Positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency will help her succeed. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Gorda is already spayed and has received one Bordetella vaccine and one rabies vaccine.
