Meet this beautiful 6 year-old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix, Kara, who is proof that second chances can lead to the sweetest new beginnings. She been through more than most dogs ever should. Once confined to a chain and later spending much of her time in a crate, she didn’t always know what it meant to just be a dog. When she arrived in our care, she was dealing with a severely infected ear, Lyme disease, ehrlichia, and a large tumor and hernia that required surgical removal, but she faced it all with quiet strength and resilience.
Now her gentle, loving personality truly shines. She adores people of all ages and is happiest when she’s close to her humans. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, making her an easy addition to most homes. However, she does have a prey drive when it comes to chickens and ducks, so a home without feathered friends is a must.
She’s the perfect mix of calm companionship and happy tail wags, content to relax by your side or enjoy time outdoors. After everything she’s been through, she deserves a family who will cherish her and give her the stable, loving home she’s been waiting for.
Now fully vetted, healed, and thriving, she’s ready to spend her golden years surrounded by love—and she’ll give it right back tenfold.
