Meet brie

Meet Brie!

Brie is a 1 year old (estimated date of birth is 12/10/2024), 30-pound scruffy Terrier mix with an adorably unique look—long body, short little legs, and a shaggy coat that only adds to her charm. Please note that 30lbs is more the size of a Corgi and not a Yorkie, and her body is longer than her legs are tall.

Brie’s journey to finding her forever home has had a few more stops than she deserved. She was originally adopted from Michigan Humane as a young puppy but was returned less than a month later when puppyhood proved to be more than her family expected. She was later adopted again, only to eventually be surrendered to our rescue. Through all of these changes, Brie has remained an incredibly sweet, social girl who is ready for the stability of a family committed to loving her for the long haul.

Brie can be a little nervous when meeting new faces, but give her a little time and she quickly warms up. Once comfortable, her affectionate and friendly personality shines through. She has been an absolute pleasure in her foster home and is simply a very sweet girl.

She does well with other dogs and has recently been introduced to dog-savvy cats without any issues. She is curious about them, so a cat comfortable around dogs would be the best match. Brie would also likely do well with dog-savvy children who understand how to respectfully interact with their four-legged family members.

Brie has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and is crate trained. She walks well on a leash and would enjoy getting out for walks and adventures with her new family. She is not a good candidate for a tether and deserves a home where she can safely enjoy life as part of the family.

Her scruffy Terrier coat will require some regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best.

After experiencing several homes in her young life, Brie is ready for the part where someone finally says, “You’re home,” and means it. She has so much love to give and is looking for a family that will give her the commitment, stability, and affection she deserves—and love her furever.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
