Meet orion
Orion is 8 years old, 55 pounds, and still has plenty of silliness up his sleeve. This curious, friendly fellow enjoys exploring, accepting pets, and following his person around for a little game of “tag.” During a recent visit to the playroom, staff asked him to sit for a treat, and he offered a stand on his hind legs instead. Perhaps he thought the assignment needed a creative touch. Toys weren’t especially interesting that day, but company, snacks, and a chance to sniff certainly were. Orion would love a home where he can enjoy sniffing walks, playful moments, and affection from someone who appreciates his spunky spirit. He can pull on leash when eager to explore, so some practice with calmer walks would be helpful. His experience with cats, children, and other dogs is unknown. A veterinarian also checked a lump beside his spine and identified it as a benign cyst that can be monitored; removal is optional. For Orion, a home means having someone to follow because they’re his person, a familiar place to rest, and the chance to bring a little unexpected joy to everyday life. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter`s care. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.
