Meet charlie brown

Charlie (Charlie Brown) is a six year old Staffordshire mix we adopted from Tulsa Animal Shelter in 2020. He has been a good dog for us, and we are looking for the right next home for him.

Charlie is house trained and very well crate trained. He has completed two separate multi-week professional training programs through Torchlight K9 in Tulsa, and documentation is available on request. He knows a long list of commands and walks well on leash with the right handling technique. He is smart and a little hard headed, so he will test boundaries and look for the gaps. He does best with an owner who is consistent and confident and will keep up the structure he was trained with.

He loves people. Walks are his favorite thing, followed closely by car rides, going new places, and meeting new people. He warms up readily to teens, young adults, and new adults, with no preference between men and women. At home he is happy with a rope toy or a ball, but what he really wants is someone to play with him. He is also a big cuddler.

What Charlie needs in a home:
Charlie should be the only dog. He lives peacefully with our older female dog, but he has shown aggression toward unfamiliar dogs. He has not been tested with cats.

Charlie needs a home without young children. He has never bitten anyone. He has shown aggressive tendencies toward our young daughter and guards his toys and food when she is around, and that resource guarding is the reason we are rehoming him. He does well with older kids and teenagers. An adults-only home, or one with older children, is where he will do best.

For the right person, someone who wants an athletic, well trained, affectionate dog to take along on adventures and who can give him a home without young kids or other dogs, Charlie has a lot to offer.

Charlie is participating in the iRehome program. All iRehome dogs are being rehomed by their current owner. All iRehome behavioral and medical information is provided by the dog's current owner. TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with the current owner prior to completing the adoption process.
