I’d love to be your dog. I’m an adorable, 3-year-old, 56-pound sweetheart, with the cutest expressive face, a bright smile, and a happy, delightful personality. I came to Wayside as a stray. Sure, it’s stressful living in the big shelter without a family to love, but I’m safe and cared for, and I’ve been busy making lots of friends during my stay. Still, I know this is just a temporary stop on my journey. What I really need is a home and family of my very own, where I can finally relax and spend my days chilling on the couch or running around in the fenced backyard. Ah, that sounds so nice.I managed to quickly become a volunteer favorite here at Wayside. My new friends love to spend time hanging out with me in the cuddle room or taking me for walks on the trails around the campus. I have excellent leash skills. My favorite thing, though, is when I get to go on field trips! It’s so nice to have a break from shelter life. I love sniffing and exploring new paths in the local parks or watching as the people play pickleball nearby. I’m curious, happy, and excited to be out and about, living my best life. I absolutely love to play with toys! They make me feel comforted and happy. Sometimes they’re all I think about. It’s rough being homeless and never having anything of your own, so I hope you’ll provide me with a few toys that can just be mine. I love training sessions, and I’m currently enrolled in a class where I’m learning manners and basic life skills that will help me adjust to my new home and routine. My adoption even includes a private training session, where I can show you everything I know. I will thrive with positive reinforcement. Please stay patient and calm with me, praising and encouraging me when I’m a good girl, so that I learn what’s expected of me. I’m eager to make you happy and proud. I was never socialized with other dogs, and it’s uncomfortable for me to be around them, so I will need a home as your only dog. Don’t worry, though, I’ll give you so much love and attention that I will be enough. I need a home with kids over the age of 6, and I’ll need to meet any kids under the age of 10 to make sure that we’re a good match for each other. I just want everyone in the family to be comfortable with my exuberant and enthusiastic play style.All I have ever wanted is a home of my own and a family to love who will do the same for me.
