Allie is a beautiful, light-colored Golden Retriever who spent the first chapter of her life working hard as a breeder dog in a puppy mill. Because of her past, the world outside can sometimes feel big and overwhelming. But despite everything she has been through, Allie has held onto her incredibly sweet and gentle spirit. Allie is ready to continue learning what it means to be a beloved family dog. She has good potty manners, is crate trained, enjoys free-roaming in a fenced yard, and loves snuggling on the couch. She is doing relatively well with leash walking, although she is still learning. When frightened, Allie may pancake to the ground, but as her confidence grows, so will her ability to handle new experiences.Like many former puppy mill dogs, Allie has a few things to work on. She can be a little too interested in what’s on the counter and occasionally thinks shoes make excellent chew toys! With patience, consistency, and positive training, she can overcome these habits and continue becoming the wonderful companion she was always meant to be.Allie needs someone with a loving heart, patience, and a willingness to help her discover the joys of being a cherished family member.
