Meet mickie
Mickie is a sweet, 4-year-old, approximately 35-pound mixed-breed girl who has been making wonderful progress as she settles into a new environment. She previously lived in a home with many other dogs and is dog social. Mickie is a thoughtful communicator who lets you know when she needs a little space. She would likely do best with a similarly sized, dog-savvy canine companion, and MHS can help determine whether your current dog would be a good match.When Mickie first arrived, she was very fearful and needed several days to feel comfortable. With patience and a gentle approach, she has made impressive strides. She has slowly learned to accept being leashed and harnessed, and she now welcomes and even leans into affection, especially chin and neck scratches. It has been wonderful to watch her confidence grow.As Mickie continues to settle in, her social personality is really beginning to shine. She is very friendly with strangers and now happily walks up to greet new people politely. Mickie is looking for a patient, understanding home where she can continue building confidence while discovering all the good things that come with being loved. With time, trust, and a little encouragement, this lovely girl has the potential to be a wonderful companion.
