Meet chester

Chester A14688184 lb. neutered male, approx 6 years old -This big, lovable guy may be a little more “well-fed” than he needs to be, so fewer snacks and a little more activity would do his joints a world of good! Despite his size and age, he has a surprising pep in his step and was eager to get moving and even try a little running.-He’s an affectionate boy who enjoys attention and will happily remind you when he’d like some by putting his paws up for a little love. Once he gets those greetings out of the way, he can settle in and enjoy some pets and belly rubs. He’s also a fan of toys and had fun tossing them around.-He’s food motivated, knows “sit,” and takes treats pretty nicely. He may be a potty holder, but like any dog entering a new environment, he’ll need some time to learn a new routine. He’s naturally curious and likes to stay busy, but we did get to see his softer side when he finally curled up and relaxed on the blankets. This sweet, silly guy has plenty of personality and is ready for someone to help him enjoy his next chapter!-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper introsUnknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
