Je vous présente Mon Cher! This big boy is super chill and sweet. We can't get over how calm and friendly he is... a true gentleman... polite and charming. But this big fella had a rough journey to the shelter. Police officers found him living as a stray with several other dogs under a trailer. Animal control had to drag him out with a catch pole. Then he completely shut down. No tail wags, no nothing. So scared and confused and depressed. He had to be carried around everywhere.... which was tricky at almost 70 pounds!! But once he came to stay with us as a foster, he has bounced back. He LOVES to relax on the couch. And enjoys regular meal times. He plays well with my beagle boy and our other foster girl (Tootie). He has spurts of energy where he frolics and zooms around the yard. But for the most part he is incredibly calm. Just a jolly guy. He also likes when my husband chases him around playing tag. He understands the game. He is pretty good with our cats, though he gets in their faces too much sometimes and they hiss and swat at him... he leaves them alone then. He warms up to visitors at the house quickly. An all around good boy!! The main things we are working on are leash walks. He does not like anything around his neck, so we use a harness. He's not too fond of the harness either, but is doing better. He prefers the fenced in backyard where he does his business. He also does not like the crate. He'll go in there if coaxed with tasty treats, and then he's fine. But getting him in there can be a challenge. We've been leaving him out of the kennel during the days while at work. He doesn't mess up anything or mess in the house. Chills on the couch mostly. A trustworthy dude. If interested in meeting Mon Cher please email me at kqballance@yahoo.com.
