Meet lucky
A timid but sweet and brave little guy, Lucky's ship of fortune might not have quite come in yet, but he knows his perfect family is out there-- and they'll be as lucky as he is when they find him!
This young pup came to us when his owner was unable to afford his care. Despite his fearfulness in his new surroundings, Lucky has allowed staff and volunteers to get to know him, and his curious and loving personality is starting to come out as he grows more comfortable. Once he gets out of the kennel and relaxes, he loves his walks and explores the trails with a wagging tail and sniffing nose!
In his original home, Lucky did live with other small dogs, and his previous owner said he generally enjoyed being around them. While he hasn't been able to relax enough to engage in real play with other dogs at the shelter yet, he shows a lot of interest in them on walks and may do well in a home with respectful dogs who can give him space while he decompresses. With people, Lucky might be cautious at first, but he makes friends with just a little time and attention. Once he knows you, he will actively seek out affection and want to spend time by your side.
Because of his shy nature, we think Lucky would do best in a home without small children (teens would be fine), and his adopters should be comfortable giving him time and space when he needs it. If you're ready to make this sweet boy truly Lucky, come meet him!
