Hi, I'm Winston! I may be a little nervous when I meet new people or experience new things, but underneath my shy side is a loyal companion who just wants to be close to my favorite humans. Once I trust you, you'll find me resting my head in your lap for pets, curling up next to you on the couch or in bed, and following you around to see what adventure comes next. I wake up bright and early, ready to get the day started, and if you stand up, I'll be right there hoping we're off to do something fun. Just be careful opening doors—I might try to sneak out to explore!

I'm becoming more playful every day! I love wrestling with other dogs, playing fetch, tugging on rope toys, and carrying around my favorite stuffed animals. Squeaky toys? Not really my thing. I get so excited to meet new people that I sometimes jump up to say hello or even try to give them a big hug. When I play, I can be a little mouthy, but it's all part of my goofy, happy personality. I don't bark very often, but when I do, you'll definitely hear my outrageously loud and silly bark! My tail is always wagging, usually into furniture, because I'm just that happy.

I'm still learning that some things aren't so scary. Crates and car rides make me nervous, although I do settle down once I'm in my crate. Walks are another work in progress—I haven't quite figured out the leash yet and sometimes stop to take in every sight, smell, and sound, or simply lie down when I decide I've had enough. I know a few basics like "sit" and "come," but I'm looking for someone who will be patient, encouraging, and excited to help me keep learning.

I'm potty trained, but I'm a pretty quiet guy, so you'll need to pay attention when I ask to go outside. I like having a familiar potty spot and can get distracted when I'm somewhere new. With kindness, consistency, and a little extra patience, I'll continue to grow into the amazing dog I know I can be.
