Kusner is a handsome little Yorkie mix with a gorgeous reddish coat and an even bigger personality packed into his tiny frame. He's a confident little guy who knows what he likes and isn't shy about letting you know when he'd rather be with his people. While Kusner enjoys curling up on a soft blanket for a nap, he's just as likely to decide it's time for lap snuggles or to ask to be picked up and carried. He forms strong bonds with his people and loves being close to them. If you leave the room, don't be surprised if you suddenly have a tiny shadow following behind you. If a door separates you, he'll politely let you know he'd much rather be on the same side.

Kusner walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting outside for short walks and plenty of opportunities to explore and sniff. He generally ignores people and other dogs during walks, although he may bark back if another dog starts barking first. He rides beautifully in the car, making him an easy companion for errands or adventures. Toys aren't high on Kusner's list of priorities, but treats certainly are! He's also a big fan of couch cuddles, ear rubs, and belly rubs, and he thrives on one-on-one attention.

Kusner is still working on his house training and continues to make progress with a consistent routine. He isn't a fan of being confined and will let you know with a little whining if he's placed in a crate or exercise pen. That said, he settles after a few minutes at bedtime and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate. Because Kusner can be protective of his favorite people and prefers being the center of attention, his foster feels he would be happiest as the only dog in the home. He has not been around children in foster care, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy children would likely be the best fit.

Kusner may have a little bit of spice, but underneath that spirited personality is a deeply loving, loyal companion who simply wants to be close to his favorite people.
