HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet him, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Shy, gentle pup who came from a situation where he didn't get the experiences and exposure to the world that dogs typically get from a young age; will need patience while adjusting to a new home and will likely need continued work on leash walking, crate-training, potty training and other things - Likes toys, especially his toy ball; they'll be great for bonding and helping him come out of his shell - Has done well meeting new people in his foster home - Has been quiet in a kennel when his foster family is gone- Still learning about leash walking, but does pretty well and would likely do best with a harness - Does OK in the car; likes to be right next to you but also can just chill in the back seat - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him; would greatly benefit from a home with more mature family members who can work with him on confidence-building and learning dog things - Has done well with other dogs in his foster home would benefit from having a confident dog friend in his new home to help him learn (dog intro required) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed.
