Hello to everyone from Nellie, one of twelve siblings who just arrived in Wisconsin this week. Nellie is a black lab mix with a little white on her chest. Nellie is approximately 3 months old and is adjusting to her new environment very well. Nellie is full of love and affection, wanting to give, especially kisses, as much as she wants to receive, tummy rubs and snuggles. Nellie is very friendly, but can be hesitant at first with new people or activities, like being on a walk and cars go by or a dog barking. Nellie has met several neighborhood dogs on walks and the meets and greets went well. She most definitely didnt like her collar and leash the first day, but now walks with them on like a pro. Nellie seems to know she needs to go potty outside, but so far isnt indicating the need. She goes to the door when told potty outside and sits and we are working on the waiting part. Nellie needs a little coaching into her crate, but settles in nicely with maybe just a few soft whines at bedtime or if I leave the house for a while. She is sleeping in the bedroom with me and has been sleeping through most of the night. Nellie is the typical lab and follows me everywhere and is very content just being close to me. When we have play time she is so funny the way she jumps after a toy and usually brings it back, but of course doesnt give, yet. We have a lot to learn about each other over the next several weeks.
