He was part of a litter of puppies found abandoned on the side of the road, left without food, shelter, or the protection every puppy needs. Thankfully, compassionate rescuers found Winston and his siblings before it was too late, giving them the chance to grow up surrounded by care instead of hardship. Today, Winston is a healthy, happy young dog who has embraced his second chance with an enthusiastic wagging tail and a joyful spirit. He's affectionate, playful, and always excited to be part of the fun. Whether he's chasing toys, exploring the yard, or curling up beside his favorite people, Winston brings happiness wherever he goes. He loves making new friends and gets along wonderfully with children, other dogs, and even cats, making him an excellent addition to many different types of families. Winston enjoys attention, thrives on companionship, and has the kind of personality that makes everyone fall in love with him. As a Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier Mix, Winston combines the loyalty and devotion of the Chihuahua with the intelligence, confidence, and playful energy of the Jack Russell Terrier. He's an alert, curious little dog who enjoys learning, exploring, and being included in everyday family life. Winston would thrive in a home that offers: Plenty of love and companionship Daily walks and playtime Positive reinforcement training Interactive toys and mental enrichment Continued socialization A consistent daily routine A safe indoor home where he's treated as a cherished member of the family A lifetime of love, patience, and commitment Winston has already overcome a difficult beginning, and now he's ready to spend the rest of his life with a family that will love him unconditionally. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Although Winston is still young, he's at a wonderful age to continue learning and building confidence. Like all rescue dogs, he'll need a little time to adjust to his new surroundings, routines, and family. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to learn your household routine 3 Months to fully settle into family life Winston is intelligent and eager to please, making him an excellent candidate for continued positive reinforcement training. His new family should continue providing: Positive reinforcement training Daily exercise and interactive play Consistent routines and structure Continued socialization with people and other animals Mental enrichment through toys and games Plenty of love, patience, and encouragement With guidance and consistency, Winston will continue growing into a confident, well-mannered companion. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Adopting Winston is a lifelong commitment that includes providing proper veterinary care, exercise, companionship, and a loving home. As part of responsible pet ownership, Winston will need: Annual veterinary wellness examinations Routine vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian Monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention A nutritious diet to maintain a healthy weight Daily physical exercise and mental enrichment Continued training and socialization A safe, loving indoor home where he is treated as a cherished member of the family We recommend scheduling a wellness examination with your veterinarian shortly after adoption to establish care and ensure Winston continues to live a long, healthy, and happy life.
