Meet Kaid! Found as a stray, he now waits for his forever family at the shelter. He's shown us that he's a very intelligent and VERY loyal boy. He's also young and energetic, meaning he will need plenty of enrichment and exercise to keep him content in the home. Kaid will be waiting patiently in his kennel for his person to come- is it you? Meet him any day from 10am-6pm!

Behavior Notes:
Behavior Eval 8/1/2026:
Kennel Presentation: When I approached his kennel, he came up to the front of it with a neutral body and a low wagging tail. Very easily leashed him.

Leash Skills: He pulls slightly on leash and is in tune to his handler’s leash pressure. We passed a basket of dirty blanket blankets on the way out, and he jumped up on it sniffing for a minute. Very motivated by all the smells we passed on the way out and always stopped to sniff.

Sociability: Brought him to the play yard and he was a very well behaved boy for me and showed me how obedient he is. Very treat motivated and takes them very gently out of my hand. Showed me that he knows sit and paw. At one point a tall man walked by us and put his hand out for Kaid to sniff and he sniffed for a second then jumped up on the fence and barked through the fence at him. Seemed more like alert barking and went back to wagging right after. The sprinkler was on to keep the grass cool and he dodged the water as soon as he felt a splash. Sniffed out treats wherever he could find them. They were doing construction in the play yard next-door and he got briefly scared the first two times the drill went off and then was comfortable with it. Seems pretty well adjusted. I sat on a bench and he came over to me to solicit out attention. He took pets from me with a neutral body and a soft relaxed face. Briefly jumped up on me to try to get the snacks for my fanny pack. Extremely treat motivated and tried to sniff them out from the trashcan in the backyard yard as well. Met a male staff member in the volunteer office with a very loose, body taking pets from him all over.

Play: Would briefly chase a tennis ball then wasn’t very interested in it.

Dog Interaction: Didn't have any today

Return to Kennel: Very easily went back into kennel and unleashed.

Color Level: Gave him gold for eval due to some minimal jumping, but very easy to handle overall.

Steer Test - Water 4/5, Can 3/5
High wagging tail, came in hot, high wagging tail when greeting/greeted, good play bows but became very humpy at the end.
