Meet Dak! He is currently enrolled in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and he is just about ready to show off his new skills! His new abilities include 'sit', 'wave', 'pray' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent.
Dak is an affectionate boy. He will nuzzle his way into your lap and heart in no time. He has a bit of a twist in his face. It makes him just that much cuter!
It's best to let him get to know you at his own speed. He shows a little bit of anxiety when he meets new people and new dogs. He is on a low dose of anxiety meds that helps him cope. We don't know if this will be a lifelong drug, but it may help with his transition to a new home and for a couple months following.
Dak is house trained and does fine in his kennel. He enjoys going for walks and has even jogged a couple times with his handler.
He should not go to a home with cats.
Dak will be ready to show off his new manners mid-August. Apply to meet him today!
