Meet Fatty, previously known as Memphis! This chunky love bug is a little over 3 years old, neutered, fully vaccinated, on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas, and ticks, and is a healthy boy ready to find his true home. We would love to get him adopted locally or out of state with transport available, but we are also looking for a local foster home in the DFW area if an adopter is not found soon. Fatty was originally adopted as an older pup, but due to a tough change in circumstances, he is looking for his next chapter and needs placement by the first week of August.

Fatty takes daily allergy medication to stay comfortable, and he happily gobbles up his pills like they are special treats. As a typical bulldog, he just needs quick daily maintenance like wiping his nose folds and keeping his ears clean.

Fatty is a complete goofball, affectionate shadow, and professional couch potato who follows his favorite people everywhere. He is a fantastic car ride partner who sits nicely in the passenger seat, though he might try to slide onto your lap to look out the window. He loves snuggling, getting big hugs, watching movies on the couch, and sneaking popcorn if you are not looking. When he needs to go outside, he patiently and quietly sits by the door to wait for you. He also loves his kennel, keeping his crate door open with a soft blanket inside where he happily trots in for day naps and full nights of sleep.

Fatty loves short walks and thrives on dog friendly restaurant patios, where he will lay down, listen to live music, and soak up pets from everyone who walks by. He can try to play the boss when first meeting new dogs, but once he burns off initial energy, he settles in, plays nicely, or takes a nap. He has done great during stays with dog sitters around other pups, though he has not been tested with cats.

Fatty is best suited for a home with older children, as his sudden bursts of zoomies can accidentally bump into or knock down little ones. He is very food motivated and might take snacks straight out of little hands if given the chance. He loves hard chew toys, heavy duty bones, or stuffed Kongs, though any soft plush toy will be destroyed in minutes. Fatty is house trained and does fantastic on hard flooring, but he can occasionally mark on carpeted areas in a new environment, so having a carpet free space or keeping washable belly wraps on hand is ideal.
