Meet daisy

Meet Daisy!

Some dogs are the life of the party. Daisy is the life of the couch.

Born on September 23, 2023, this adorable 10-pound Yorkshire Terrier found herself in need of a new beginning after her owner experienced difficult life circumstances. Through it all, Daisy has remained the same sweet, gentle, and affectionate little girl who simply wants to be loved.

Daisy is happiest when she's with her people. Whether she's tagging along on errands, curling up beside you for movie night, or claiming her favorite spot snuggled up on the blankets in bed, she's a devoted companion who thrives on human connection. While she walks well on a leash, she tends to display a napoleon-like syndrome and barks and becomes frustrated at those she passes by, specifically other dogs, so a physical fenced yard is required. She will need some training to redirect her attention when it comes to crossing the path of another dog due to her dominant and over-confident response.

In her foster home, Daisy has demonstrated an excellent understanding of house manners and is crate trained, although she'd much rather be snuggled up next to her favorite humans. She gets along well with other respectful dogs but chooses not to interact with them, and is not keen on sharing her attention. She has also previously lived peacefully with cats. Because of her petite size, she would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to interact gently with small dogs.

Like many Yorkshire Terriers, Daisy will require routine professional grooming throughout her life. Grooming and veterinary visits can be stressful for her, and she appreciates a patient, compassionate approach. She may benefit from anti-anxiety medication or mild sedation during these appointments to help keep her comfortable and make the experience as positive as possible. With an understanding groomer, a supportive veterinary team, and a family committed to helping her through these moments, Daisy has shown these necessary appointments can be completed successfully.

If you're searching for a loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, Daisy may be the perfect match. She's ready to leave her past behind and find a family that will cherish, spoil, and adore her for the rest of her life.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.

OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
