Meet Duncan, a handsome 4-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is ready to leave his past behind and discover the joys of being a beloved family companion. Retired from a puppy mill, Duncan is now living in a Misty Eyes foster home, where he is learning that life can be filled with kindness, comfort, and care.Like many dogs from puppy mill environments, Duncan has had very little positive interaction with people and remains unsocialized. He is not aggressive in any way, but he is understandably fearful and cautious around humans. Duncan will need a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to move at his pace and help him build confidence as he learns to trust.Because he is easily frightened and may try to flee when startled, Duncan is considered a flight risk. For his safety, he will require a home with a securely fenced yard and a family committed to carefully managing his environment while he adjusts to his new life.
