Meet Goulash, a gentle soul who is discovering that the world isn`t such a scary place! Give her a little patience and time to feel comfortable, and she`ll show you her sweet, playful, and affectionate personality. This lovely girl has been making progress in her foster home, growing more comfortable in her surroundings and learning to trust the people around her.Goulash enjoys being near her people and loves a good cuddle. She`s happy to relax on the floor, settle in with her favorite bone, or simply hang out with her favorite humans. Her energy levels have been good, and she has a nice balance of enjoying her time with people and relaxing at home. Once she knows you`re her friend, you`ll get to see more of her silly, joyful side!Goulash is doing well with her housetraining overall, with a couple of accidents when she first settled into her foster home. She has generally been a good houseguest when left alone, with her main bit of mischief being getting into food that was left within reach. Keeping tempting snacks put away should help her continue to settle into a home routine.This sweet girl enjoys getting outside for walks and has nice leash manners overall, with just a little pulling at times. She hasn`t been reactive to other dogs or people while out walking, and she`s been friendly with the people she`s met. She`s also been making progress with having her leash put on, which previously made her uncomfortable. With continued patience and positive reinforcement, she`ll keep building confidence around this part of her routine.Goulash has experience with children and has been friendly with the people she`s met, including both men and women. Her foster hasn`t reported any new concerns about her behavior. While her interactions with children have been positive, adopters with children should arrange an appropriate introduction to make sure everyone feels comfortable together.Goulash has also met other dogs at BARCS and has interacted nicely with them. She tends to do best with gentle, polite canine companions, and she has previously done well with small-breed dogs. She hasn`t shown reactivity toward dogs during walks, either. If you have a resident dog, she will need to meet them to see whether their personalities and play styles are a good match.This smart girl knows “sit” and “paw” and responds well to gentle guidance. She has a playful side, previously enjoying fetch with her BarkBox Yeti, and she loves chewing on her favorite bone. She`s not especially food motivated, so praise, play, patience, and other positive reinforcement can be helpful when teaching her new things.Although Goulash has made wonderful strides, she can still feel nervous when something is unfamiliar or when there are sudden movements. She`ll do best with someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let her settle in at her own pace. Her progress with having her leash put on is an encouraging sign that, with consistency and reassurance, she can continue gaining confidence.Once Goulash knows you`re her friend, you`ll get to see the affectionate girl underneath those initial nerves. She enjoys being close to her people, relaxing at home, taking walks, and spending time with her favorite bone.
