Meet chopper
Meet Chop.
For three years, Chop knew one job: guard a junkyard.
He spent his life chained among rusted cars, scrap metal, and heavy equipment, so it’s no surprise that the outside world still feels unfamiliar to him.
Chop is a lot of dog. He is incredibly powerful, intensely loyal, and will not be the right fit for most homes. He will require a securely fenced yard and an adopter who understands large, working-breed dogs and is committed to continuing his training.
He is still learning how to walk on a leash and makes progress every day, but he has a long road ahead. At this time, Chop cannot live with other dogs or cats. He also has a unique trigger around moving vehicles and can be difficult to manage when cars pass, something we’re actively working through with him.
The good news? Underneath all that uncertainty is a dog who wants to learn. Every day he chooses curiosity over fear a little more. Every day he shows us another piece of the dog he’s capable of becoming.
Chop isn’t ready for adoption yet, and that’s okay. He’ll stay with us for as long as he needs while we earn his trust, build his confidence, and help him discover what life looks like beyond a junkyard.
Some dogs just need someone willing to meet them where they are. We think Chop is worth every bit of that time.
