Meet Tio! 🐾

Tio is a 3-year-old Mini Longhaired Dachshund mix with the sweetest soul you’ll ever meet. He may be a little shy when meeting new people, dogs, or unfamiliar situations, but once he realizes he’s safe, he completely blossoms into the ultimate velcro dog. If he had his way, he’d spend every moment snuggled up beside you (or practically in your lap!).

Tio is a true cuddle bug who loves nothing more than being close to his people. He’s happiest lounging in a sunny spot outside, soaking up the sunshine, or curled up next to you on the couch. Don’t be surprised if he decides your lap is also the perfect place while you’re eating dinner or even driving—personal space simply isn’t part of Tio’s vocabulary! He just loves being as close to his humans as physically possible.

He’s wonderful with children and gets along well with other dogs. He can be a bit bashful during introductions, but with a little patience, he settles in nicely and makes friends. Tio is also a gentleman on leash—he walks calmly without much pulling and enjoys leisurely strolls.

Loud noises and yelling make him nervous, so he’d thrive in a calm, patient home where he can continue building confidence. He is very well-behaved in a kennel when you need to leave the house and happily wears puppy potty wraps without trying to remove them. While he doesn’t appear to be fully potty trained yet, he’s eager to please, highly food-motivated, and will likely do well with a consistent routine and positive reinforcement.

Tio is currently heartworm positive, but don’t let that discourage you! Heartworm disease is treatable, and with proper veterinary care, dogs like Tio can go on to live long, happy, healthy lives. He deserves a family willing to see past his diagnosis and give him the loving home he’s been waiting for.

If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who will follow you from room to room, supervise every meal, insist on “helping” you drive, and spend every chance he gets curled up by your side, Tio is your guy. All he needs is a family willing to give him a little time to settle in—and in return, he’ll give you his whole heart. ❤️
Adoption fee is: $400

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.
