Meet ida
Ida is a sweet, incredibly smart, and resilient Bluetick Coonhound who has already been through quite an adventure and is ready to find her forever home. She is an intelligent girl who is eager to learn and acts like a classic hound. She has mastered "sit" while in foster care and has been doing excellent with housetraining. Ida also sleeps soundly in her kennel all night, although given the choice, she would much rather be in bed with her people. Ida loves to walk the trails, and would be a great agility dog or partner for an active person.
Ida is a proven escape artist, and because of this she must have a secure, fenced yard or be leashed when outside. While in foster care, she always sports a GPS collar and harness with identification attached. Ida has demonstrated that her nose will take her far, and she will take the opportunity to follow it. Her safety depends on supervision and secure containment. She has recently had four teeth removed following an injury she sustained while she was loose. She is currently healing and has been a champ through the entire process.
Ida would do best with a family committed to investing in her training, who can provide daily exercise and mental stimulation, and appreciates the personality of a hound.
