Meet Lysander—which means `liberator,` and honestly, it`s a fitting name because this guy believes every backyard, hiking trail, and patch of grass deserves to be explored. His life philosophy is simple: Why stand still when you could be investigating something? This handsome 3-year-old, 35-pound Australian Kelpie mix is the perfect compact adventure buddy—big enough to keep up on the trails but small enough to fit comfortably into your life. Lysander loves to run, sniff, and see what`s around the next corner. Tennis balls? Meh. Squeaky toys? Hard pass. He`d much rather entertain himself by exploring the world than chasing a toy. He even gave hot dogs the ultimate Kelpie side-eye, proving he`s got some surprisingly refined taste when it comes to snacks. Luckily, he does know `sit,` takes treats gently, and will happily accept the ones that meet his high culinary standards.Lysander is also a total sweetheart with people. He`s friendly, affectionate, and has perfected the art of leaning in for pets just in case you weren`t already planning to give him some. He was happy to stand still for a brushing session and enjoyed the extra attention. On walks, he`ll occasionally remind you that adventures are calling with a little leash pull, but most of the time he cruises along on a nice loose leash. When he spotted one of the shelter cats, he was curious but not over-the-top, just adding another interesting thing to his list of daily discoveries.
