Meet mikey
Mikey is a charming, low-energy senior who loves being close to his people. He's potty trained, enjoys company and cuddles, and would happily curl up inside with you while you watch your favorite team. On walks, he lumbers along at an easy pace, pausing to investigate new scents or observe the world across the street. He's very treat motivated (watch those fingers!) and absolutely loves a frozen peanut butter Kong. With good nutrition, his handsome jet-black coat is sure to shine again, just like he will in a loving home. Loyal and affectionate, he leans in for attention and companionship. Mikey is looking for a home where he can stay part of the action, enjoy his sniffy strolls, and soak up plenty of love along the way.Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. To help with medical costs, a $800 sponsorship for treatment is available from Friends of Wake County Animal Center. Email HealaHeart@outlook.com for more information. He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Mikey, 289850".
