Meet oscar

Now this is a story all about how Oscar's life got flip turned upside down.
We'd like to take a minute, you sit right there, we'll tell you how he became the king of the couch in foster care.
In far-west Rio, born and raised, on the Mesa is where he spent most of his days.
Hunkering down, lonely, hungry, not cool - daydreaming of a life with a nice swimming pool. When an ACO just trying to do good, took him to the shelter-hood.
They put him in a kennel, he got real scared, he wasn't gonna move with anyone anywhere!
Over the next year volunteers came near, then one of them said I'm taking him home to reduce fear. If anything we could say this chance was rare, but we thought, "welp, that's the point of foster care."
He pulled up to the house, hid in a corner for a couple of days, and eventually decided, "yo, pals I want to play." He played with the dogs and watched as the kitties ran past, he was being so brave as a house dog at last.

Now that we have your attention, meet Oscar. His foster mom lovingly calls him Oscar Pawscar Pants (he responds to any combination of the three) and says he is the sweetest boy who deserves a home to call his own, forever.
Oscar still isn't quite sure how to be a pet or a house dog, but with the help of a confident dog in the family he does well. He is not ready to be snuggled on, but he thoroughly enjoys fetch and running around the yard with his dog friends.
When it's warm, Oscar loves to play in his doggy pool, and when it's chilly he'll snuggle up with a blanket.
Oscar would do best in a calm house with some level of predictable routines and consistency. He is probably better off around older children or in an adult only home as quick movements and loud noises startle him.
He is currently residing with two similarly sized dogs and two cats - he does well with all of them (and loved playing with the other shelter dogs) and takes correction from the cats when they offer it.
Oscar does not yet walk on a leash and avoids close contact with humans, but with time he warms up (very slowly).
If you're looking for the sweetest dog for your dog to be best pals with, and you're willing to continue working with Oscar to help him gain confidence and trust, he might be the perfect dog for you.
