Percy is a 1–2 year old, 60 lb Shepherd mix available for adoption or rescue at Vulcan Park Animal Care in Homewood. This sweet boy does have heart worms, but this is very treatable, and with the right person or rescue, Percy can go on to live the long, happy, healthy life he deserves. Treatment for a dog his size generally starts around $900, depending on the clinic. He’ll need to keep walks short and stay calm for a few months during treatment, but once he’s all better, I expect him to be the best walking/running/hiking buddy ever.
