Meet phoenix
There may not be another dog in this shelter whose name fits her quite as perfectly.
Phoenix has truly risen from the ashes.
She came to us needing more medical care than most dogs will ever experience. She underwent surgery to correct painful entropion, has battled severe dry eye requiring ongoing eye care, and then faced another major hurdle—bilateral mastectomy surgery.
And yet, here she is.
Smiling. Playing. Loving people. Soaking up affection. Running around the yard like she has absolutely no idea she was ever supposed to give up.
That’s Phoenix.
She has been poked, medicated, treated, operated on, and cared for through a journey that could have broken her spirit. It never did. Through all of it, this girl remained incredibly sweet and trusting.
Now the scars tell a story—but they don’t define her.
They tell us she survived.
