While he enjoys the company of some other dogs, he prefers to make friends slowly and tends to get along best with female dogs after a proper introduction.Despite his Great Pyrenees roots, Steve would have definitely flunked out of livestock guardian school! His prey drive is simply too strong, which means he cannot live with cats or other small animals.Steve's happy place is a securely fenced backyard where he can stretch his legs, patrol the perimeter, play, and enjoy life at his own pace. He much prefers free play and exploring the yard over long, structured walks. Like many big, powerful dogs, Steve is strong on leash and is still working on his walking manners.
