Don't let his tiny size fool you—Polito has a huge personality! This little terrier is full of confidence, charm, and character. He's playful, curious, intelligent, and always ready to brighten your day with his entertaining antics.

Like many terriers, Polito forms a very strong bond with his people and thrives on companionship. He enjoys being involved in family life and loves soaking up attention. While he can be a little reserved when meeting new people, he quickly warms up once he feels safe.

At the end of an active day, Polito is just as happy curling up on the couch or in his cozy dog bed for some well-earned snuggles.

Home Life

Polito has always lived around other dogs and enjoys cuddling with his canine companions, but what he truly wants is a person of his own. He would make an excellent companion for someone who is home often or looking for a devoted little shadow.

Because terriers are known for forming deep attachments, Polito may develop separation anxiety if left alone for long periods. He will do best in a home where he receives plenty of love, interaction, walks, and mental stimulation.

He currently sleeps indoors with his rescuer, rotating between his dog bed, the couch, and the bed—he certainly appreciates the comforts of home!

Ideal Home

Polito is looking for someone who appreciates the spunky spirit that comes with terriers and wants a loyal, affectionate companion by their side.

He would do well:



As an only spoiled pup, or with another friendly small dog


In an apartment or house where he receives plenty of daily interaction


With someone who enjoys taking their dog on walks, errands, or social outings



A securely fenced yard is a bonus, as Polito is fearless and doesn't always realize how tiny he is. His family should always keep him safe around larger dogs.

His Rescue Story

Polito's journey began when an urgent plea for help surfaced about a severe dog-hoarding situation in Guadalajara, Mexico. Among dozens of neglected small dogs, Polito was rescued by a dedicated animal advocate who discovered he shared a particularly close bond with another little dog named Pilar.

Despite spending much of his life without the love and stability every dog deserves, Polito has embraced his second chance with incredible resilience. His joyful spirit shines through every day, proving that his difficult past hasn't defined him.

Now, Polito is patiently waiting in Mexico for the family he's always deserved—a family who will cherish his big personality, celebrate his loving heart, and give him the forever home he's been waiting for.
