Meet Dipp!

Breed: Hound Mix Age: 3 years Health: Neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready for his next adventure! Location: Currently in the Pacific Northwest and urgently looking for a foster or trial home.

Dipp's story almost ended before it had the chance to begin. He found himself on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter in New Mexico—not because of anything he had done, but simply because there wasn't enough space. Thankfully, he was given a second chance and made the journey to the Pacific Northwest in search of a better life.

Before transport, Dipp spent time in a loving foster home in New Mexico, where he truly blossomed. His foster family quickly fell in love with him and shared that if they weren't committed to continuing to foster rescue dogs, they would have adopted him themselves.

Now that he's arrived in Washington, Dipp is waiting in a boarding facility, and the kennel environment has been overwhelming for him. He's scared, confused, and desperately needs a quiet foster home where he can decompress and feel safe again.

Once Dipp has a little time to settle in and build trust, he transforms into the sweetest cuddle bug. Whether it's curling up on the couch, sleeping beside you in bed, or simply following you around the yard, Dipp just wants to be close to his people.

He enjoys daily walks, loves stuffed toys and treats, and has excellent leash manners. Dipp has taught himself how to use a doggy door, stays within fenced areas even when off leash, comes when called, and doesn't try to bolt through open doors. He's incredibly smart and eager to please.

Dipp gets along wonderfully with friendly dogs and especially loves to play. In his New Mexico foster home, he became best friends with another young dog and happily spent his days running and wrestling in the yard. Even when an older dog growled at him, Dipp simply walked away and avoided conflict. He has also visited the dog park, where he may be a little cautious at first but relaxes after a few minutes and enjoys the company of other dogs.

While Dipp can be startled by quick movements or unfamiliar situations, he recovers well and continues to gain confidence every day. He would likely do well with respectful children who understand the importance of giving him a little time to settle in. He has never shown aggression toward people or other dogs—he simply wants to feel safe, loved, and included.
