Meet wrigley

SPECIAL NEEDS: Meet Wrigley!

At just 9 weeks old, Wrigley has already beaten the odds. This sweet English Bulldog puppy was dropped off at a local veterinary hospital by a puppy mill to be euthanized. Thankfully, the veterinary team advocated for her, had her surrendered instead, and she was transferred into our rescue where she was given the chance she deserved.

Wrigley was diagnosed with spina bifida, but don't tell her she's any different. Aside from her medical needs, she is every bit the typical English Bulldog puppy - playful, stubborn, hilarious, and overflowing with personality. Wrigley is incredibly social and loves everyone she meets. She has a booming Bulldog personality.

Because of her spina bifida, Wrigley is both urinary and fecal incontinent and will require lifelong management. She currently wears diapers only with limited success due to her adorable round puppy shape, so a playpen with pee pads works best for her. She happily sleeps in her crate on a pee pad, although she does leak while resting.
Wrigley has a unique gait that continues to improve as she grows and, at this time, has no mobility restrictions. Her biggest challenge is simply being a chunky little potato - every now and then she rolls onto her back and gets stuck like a tiny turtle, requiring someone to give her a helping hand.

To keep her stools firm and prevent irritation around her rear end, Wrigley thrives on a raw diet, which her adopter will need to continue. She urinates and defecates on her own but occasionally needs a little assistance passing stool. She also has Desitin applied to her bottom twice daily to keep her skin healthy and comfortable.

Despite everything she's been through, Wrigley wakes up every day full of joy. She doesn't know she's "special"- she simply knows she loves people, loves to play, and is ready to live life to the fullest.

Wrigley is looking for a family that sees past her diagnosis and recognizes the funny, affectionate, resilient little Bulldog she truly is. If you're ready to welcome a puppy who will make you laugh every single day and love you with her whole heart, Wrigley is waiting to meet you.

At this time, due to her needs, her spay will be delayed. She will be adopted on a slay contract, with appropriate puppy vaccines and microchipped.
